Falling Out of Repentance

This video about marriage has been making the rounds.
I'm posting it here, in case anyone wants to discuss it with me...

(For a few of my own thoughts on love and marriage, check out "Modern Marriage," and "Gritting My Teeth..." or browse through the "Confessions" tab at the top of the page.)

  1. I think... he recycled everything any Christian has ever said about marriage in the past ten years.

    1. I agree he didn't reveal a ground-breaking truth for those of us who LISTEN, READ, and THINK about Theology regularly. But, there are others who rarely give themselves the opportunity to learn anything.

Preachers are too preachy (and boring). Bloggers are too wordy (and boring). Some people use the internet for pictures, videos, and music ONLY. So, I really wonder if there are people who've never been challenged "take your vows seriously" and "give up your life for your mate" because they needed a bi-racial guy with a printed tee to rhyme the message past their plugged ears.

    2. You make me smile, Amanda.

Yes, I agree that it will probably do some good for marriages. And, I guess, most messages *are* just going to be repetitions of something else that's been said--there being nothing new under the sun and all.

    3. So many kids are being raised with out Jesus in their lives. My kids are a minority at their schools.

My husband I married almost 24 years ago and had it not been for the fact that we were very good friends before we married we would have never stayed married.

While there may not be anything new under the sun, we as believers and followers of Jesus Christ need to present his message in ways that people will listen and begin to understand. After all how many people understand Greek?

This could be a great tool to reach teens about the Love of Jesus and how men and women need to take time to be friends before marriage.
